The Lansdowne is the transport knot of Bournemouth: Holdenhurst Road, the station, the roundabout and a dense stack of student and studio blocks. It generates more last-minute airport WhatsApps than almost anywhere else we cover, usually for BOH or Southampton with a suitcase and a flight in three hours. The roundabout and the station taxi rank are poor meeting points for a pre-booked car; we meet at the building entrance on Holdenhurst Road, Christchurch Road or St Swithun’s Road. Once we have you, the A338 is close via St Paul’s Road — the delay is the one-way and the 8am buses, not the miles.
Building name on Holdenhurst Road beats the station rank. The roundabout is not a pickup. Early jobs miss the buses; 8am does not.
