Bearwood sits at Bear Cross on the A348, the north-west corner of Bournemouth toward Ferndown, around Magpie Walk and the estates off Bearwood Road. It is one of the better BCP starts for a London airport run because you join the A31 via Ferndown without ever seeing County Gates. Pickups are residential; the dual carriageway itself is a bad meeting point. People confuse Bearwood with Kinson and West Howe — neighbouring, not the same roundabout. For Southampton we sometimes go A348 then A31 west rather than back through Poole.
Estate off Bearwood Road, not Bear Cross roundabout. We usually take the A348 to the A31 and skip central Bournemouth entirely.
