Cruise terminals within reach of Poole and Bournemouth
Southampton is the UK's busiest cruise port and the one most of our cruise passengers use. From Poole or Bournemouth it is about 45 minutes to an hour along the A31 and M27. The port has five cruise terminals — Ocean, Mayflower, Horizon, City and QEII — and they are on different roads, so the terminal on your ticket matters. We drop at that terminal, not the port gate.
Portsmouth International Port is about an hour and a quarter away and handles ferries and some cruise sailings. Dover and Tilbury are the long runs for Channel and northern-Europe cruises, and Bristol's cruise terminal is at Avonmouth, about an hour and a half north.
Embarkation days are busy on the roads around the port, especially when several large ships turn around on the same Saturday. We plan the pickup from your boarding window and allow for that traffic, so you arrive in your slot rather than too early to board or late for check-in.
Coming home
