The short version: we collect only what we need to run your journey, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Sandbanks Chauffeurs("we", "us") provides private hire and chauffeur services across Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset. We are the data controller for personal information you give us. Contact hello@sandbanks.taxi or 01202 028334.
The UK supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request to:
- Confirm whether we process your personal information and access it, with supplementary information.
- Receive a copy of personal information you gave us, in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Have inaccurate personal information rectified.
- Have personal information erased, where the law allows.
- Object to our processing.
- Restrict processing.
- Lodge a complaint with the ICO.
These rights are not always absolute. Email hello@sandbanks.taxi and we will respond within one month.
Why we collect data
We process personal information to perform the booking contract, to run the website, to protect our legitimate interests (fraud, disputes, service improvement), and to meet licensing and accounting law.
What we collect
- Booking details — name, phone, email, pickup and drop-off addresses, dates and times, flight numbers, passenger numbers, child seats, female driver or other requirements.
- Contact history — WhatsApp, email and call records relating to quotes and bookings.
- Payment records — what was paid and how. Card payments are handled by the payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Device / usage data — technical information your browser sends (browser type, pages viewed). The site is hosted on Vercel and uses their cookieless Web Analytics and Speed Insights so we can see which pages are used. We do not run advertising pixels or sell data to advertisers.
We receive this when you enquire or book, when you use the site, and from the driver assigned to your journey.
Who we share it with
We do not rent, sell or share your information except as follows: your assigned driver (to run the job); a card processor if you pay by card; website hosts and engineers under contract; or where the law requires (licensing, police, courts).
What we never do
- We never sell or rent your personal data.
- We never use your details for marketing you have not asked for. You can opt out of any promotional messages.
- We never share journey details except as needed to run the booking or as the law requires.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We may use session cookies (deleted when you close the browser) so the site works, and optional persistent cookies to remember preferences. Vercel Web Analytics does not set cookies. You can block cookies in your browser; some features may then not work.
How long we keep it
We keep booking records for as long as licensing and accounting law require, then delete them. Incomplete or inaccurate information may be corrected or removed. Ask and we will delete anything we are not legally required to keep.
Security
We store personal information securely and only give it to people who need it for the purposes above. No internet transmission is guaranteed secure.
Messages you send on WhatsApp are also subject to WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy. We use WhatsApp only for quotes and bookings.
Minors
This site is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors without a parent or guardian. Under-18 travel must be booked by a responsible adult.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date below shows the last revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
