Sterte sits on the Holes Bay side of Poole, along Sterte Road and the trading estate toward the Twin Sails approach. It is the practical alternative to a Poole Quay pickup: you are two minutes from the bridges but you are not in the Old Town one-way or the cobbles. A lot of early freight and industrial pickups start here, plus the apartments overlooking the bay. Daytime we still watch the bridge lifts; overnight they do not lift, so a 4am Heathrow job from Sterte is one of the simpler Poole starts. Sat-nav sometimes dumps drivers on the wrong side of the lifting bridge — we confirm whether you are east or west of the water.
Say which side of Twin Sails you are on. Sterte Road is fine overnight; daytime we watch the lift schedule the same as Hamworthy.
