Bure Lane and The Runway works: Christchurch pickups
Short daytime closures on Bure Lane and The Runway in Hoburne, Christchurch. What they mean for airport pickups between 6 and 20 September.
BCP’s surface-treatment list has short daytime full closures on Bure Lane (Friars Road–A337) and The Runway in Hoburne — not a continuous shut from 6 to 20 September. The Bournemouth Echo still prints a 6–20 September span; treat that as the order/permit window, not every-day closure.
That can hit Christchurch and Hoburne pickups, and some east Bournemouth approaches, on runs across Poole, Bournemouth and Christchurch. Bure Lane and The Runway may have short daytime surfacing closures within the Echo 6–20 September window; we will confirm on the day and use the signed diversion if needed.
If you have a pickup in Hoburne or east Christchurch around a listed surfacing day, Book now and we will time the run around any signed diversion.
How we plan airport runs around roadworks
When there are closures on Hoburne, Somerford and the A35, we check the published dates and diversion before each early or late pickup and set the pickup time to allow for it. You do not need to work out the diversion yourself; just make sure we have your flight time.
- Early flights: if your pickup falls inside a closure window, we may collect you a little earlier.
- Late arrivals: for flights landing late in the evening, we plan the drive home around any overnight closures.
- Check current roadworks: live information for Dorset roads is published by the council and National Highways, and the dates in news reports can change.
