- Drive time, plus a buffer. From BCP to Heathrow, allow 1 hour 40. To Gatwick, 2 hours. To Southampton, 45 minutes.
So a 6am flight from Heathrow means arriving by 3am, which means a pickup from central Bournemouth around 1:15am. It feels brutal, but the roads at that hour are the fastest you'll ever see them.
Why the early run is the smooth one
Between roughly 1am and 5am, the A31, M27, M3 and M25 are essentially clear. The journey times your operator quotes for "early morning" aren't optimistic — they're realistic, because the usual congestion simply isn't there.
