A3049 Dorset Way night closures to Monday 21 September
Night closures on the A3049 Dorset Way in Poole, Holes Bay to Mannings Heath, run to 21 September. How we time airport pickups around them.
BCP’s resurfacing programme on the A3049 Dorset Way in Poole, between Holes Bay Roundabout and Mannings Heath Roundabout, still includes a night-time closure through Monday 21 September for replacement road markings and road studs. The Bournemouth Echo set that phase for 15–21 September; the Echo’s weekly roadworks list for mid-September also lists a temporary road closure on that stretch for BCP surfacing, with a signed diversion in operation.
Earlier daytime surface-dressing (5–6 September) and intermediate phases are done. A temporary 20mph limit has been in place while the new surface settles and until markings are reinstated.
That hits Poole east–west local pickups and some runs toward Bournemouth Airport, plus any Poole, Bournemouth or Christchurch transfer that would normally use Dorset Way toward the A31. Follow the signed diversion and allow extra time.
The Echo names the diversion: from Holes Bay Road along Broadstone Way, Cabot Lane and Gravel Hill, then Magna Road and Ringwood Road, rejoining the A3049 at Canford Way.
