Half Term Days Out from Bournemouth & Poole
Peppa Pig World, Monkey World, Marwell Zoo or LEGOLAND this half term? Drive times from BCP and how a private driver makes the day easier.
Half term means a day out, and a day out with children often means a long drive, a full car park, a queue to get out at closing time and a tired drive home. A private driver takes all of that away: you are dropped at the entrance, the car waits nearby, and you are collected when the little ones have had enough.
Here are the favourite family days out from Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch, with typical driving times.
Close to home: under an hour
- [Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World](https://paultonspark.co.uk/), near Romsey: about 40 minutes. Peppa Pig World is inside Paultons Park, so one ticket covers both. Arrive at opening time to beat the longest queues.
- [Monkey World](https://www.monkeyworld.org/), near Wareham: about 40 minutes. An easy half day that suits younger children, with a big outdoor play area.
- [The Tank Museum](https://tankmuseum.org/), Bovington: about 40 minutes. Mostly indoors, so a good choice if the weather turns.
- [Marwell Zoo](https://www.marwell.org.uk/), near Winchester: about 50 minutes. Plenty of walking, so bring the pushchair.
A longer day out
- [Longleat Safari Park](https://www.longleat.co.uk/), Wiltshire: about 1 hour 20 minutes. Allow a full day, and check the park's website for how the safari drive works on your date.
- [LEGOLAND Windsor](https://www.legoland.co.uk/): about 1 hour 45 minutes. A long but popular day. Leave early, and the drive home is when you will be glad nobody in the family has to stay awake at the wheel.
Why use a driver for a family day out
- Nobody has to drive, so both parents can enjoy the day.
- No parking to find or pay for, and no queue to leave the car park at closing time.
- Child seats are fitted free. Tell us the children's ages when you book.
- The right car for your family. Our small MPV takes a family of four with the pushchair and the picnic. The Mercedes V-Class takes up to seven.
- One fixed price for the day, agreed before you go. It covers the car, the driver, fuel, parking and waiting. Park tickets are booked separately with the attraction.
Tips for the day
- Book park tickets online in advance. It is usually cheaper, and some days sell out in the holidays.
- Check the opening and closing times for your date, and tell us when you would like collecting.
- Pack snacks and a change of clothes in the car. Your bags stay safely with the driver while you are inside.
Plan your day out
